Books ‘Ghadri Yodhe’ and ‘Ghadar Lehar Di Kahani’ Released at South Asian History Conference

Patiala-18 October 2015 : S. Jaiteg Singh Anant is a prominent scholar of Sikh History, who well recognized and retold the role of Punjabis, especially of Sikhs in the struggle for independence of India by edited the articles of renowned historians and scholars in his two books named ‘Ghadri Yodhe’ and ‘Ghadar Lehar Di Kahani’. The uniqueness of S. Jaiteg Singh Anant is that in these books he has highlighted the role of those Ghadri warriors in the struggle for independence, who were totally neglected till now. These views were expressed today by Dr.G.S.L.Devra, the honorable former Vice Chancellor of Indera Prath University Koyat of Rajsthan at the time of releasing these both books at the final day of the 3rd three days South Asian History Conference, organized by History Department of Punjabi University Patiala on the context of ‘Religion, State and Society in South Asia : A Historical Perspective’. Dr.Jaspal Kaur Dhanju Head of the History Deptt. said that these two books are published by ‘Hardarshan Memorial International Trust, Canada’ on the occasion of the 1st birth centenary of the ‘Ghadar Movement’ and that has published in total 16 books.

Mr. Jaiteg Singh Anant said that the movement of the independence of India was started with the Ghadar Movement, when self-respected Punjabis had faced racial discrimination in Canada. He further said that he has compiled well researched 16 articles in ‘Ghadar Lehar Di Kahani’ and 13 in ‘Ghadri Yodhe’ written by prominent scholars and historians from India and across the world, so that the young generation can learn about their heritage and legacy. He also said that these both books are beautified with very rare coloured photographs having rich historical and memorable value, by which these books will tell the untold and neglected stories of the history. All these rare coloured photographs are published after taken these from the families of the Ghadris, in which the other reforms movements, which were incarnated from Ghadar Movement could also be identified. He said Hardarshan memorial Trust will sponsor any students who will undertake a Phd. or MPhil on the forgotten Gadhries. The struggle of independence was started after the Ghadar Movement. Two years ago ‘Simriti Granth Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Ji’ edited by S. Jaiteg Singh Anant was also released by Dr. Jaspal Singh, honourable V.C. at the ‘History Conference’. Mr Jaiteg Singh Anant was also honoured by the University for his contribution.
